After the meeting of the heads of state associations with the BCCI, Secretary Jay Shah told the media about their plans to provide free drinking water to the fans during the ODI World Cup 2023 games. The most prestigious cricket tournament in the world is scheduled to be held from October 5 to November 19 in India.

The schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup was announced last month by the governing body of the sport. According to the listings, the defending champions England are set to play the runners-up New Zealand on October 5, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to kick-start the perennial event.

According to a report by NDTV, the BCCI is looking to collaborate  with the Coca-Cola company to provide free drinking water during the ODI World Cup. Apart from the discussions about providing free water bottles to the fans inside the stadiums during the 50-overs tournament, BCCI talked with the state associations about the housekeeping, toilets, and hygiene of their respective cricket stadiums. The big matter of the ticket pricing for the ODI World Cup games was also spoken about, at length, during the aforementioned meeting.

BCCI unlikely to change the schedule for India vs Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2023

In the last few days, reports emerged in the media about the potential rescheduling of the India vs Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, because October 15, the date of the highly-anticipated contest, fell on the first day of Navarati, which is one of the major festivals in the state of Gujarat.

But, Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary confirmed that the change in schedule for the tournament may very well happen, but it might not be for the India vs Pakistan match. He was quoted as saying , as per India Today , “We have received requests from 2-3 member boards to change match dates. It's not specific to the India-Pakistan match.”
