The transfer of Colombian footballer Jhon Duran’s has gained momentum as reports claim that three Premier League clubs have set their eyes on him. Renowned sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano informed that Duran’s current team Al Nassr is all set to let Duran go as they are in talks with Turkish team Fenerbahce. Fabrizio wrote on X, “Understand Al Nassr have given the green light to Jhon Duran, the story of Duran at Al Nassr can be over as club’s open and ready to let him go. Fenerbahce are now trying to agree terms with Duran."
In another post on X, quoting Turkish sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Fabrizio confirmed on the submission of an official proposal by Fenerbache in Colombia for Duran’s transfer. According to the post, “Negotiations underway with Fenerbahce director Devin Ozek in Cololmbia to try advance with player’s camp, as @yagosabuncuiglu reported.”
Just months after completing a shock £65 million to play alongside Cristiano Rolando at Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr in January, former Aston Villa star Duran has now been linked with a move away from the club.
Duran might consider a Premier League return: Reports
Another report from Sportsbible states that Duran might consider a Premier League return, as clubs like Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves are in the contest to sign him and are currently monitoring the whole situation. For Al Nassr, the 24-year-old Duran appeared in good form, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances as his side finished third in the Saudi Pro League. Ahead of his transfer to Saudi Pro League, the Colombian international scored seven goals in 20 Premier League matches which reportedly attracted attention from several big clubs both in England and abroad.
Reports claim ‘personal issues’ one of a reason for him to leave Al-Nassr
A report in DailyMail claimed, quoting Arriyadiyah stated that 'personal issues' led to his reportedly decision to leave Al-Nassr. Reports state that when Duran joined Al-Nassr, he told them he wished to live in Bahrain rather than Saudi Arabia. Duran wanted to ensure that he could live with his girlfriend, Angela Capella, with whom he would be banned from living due to Islamic law in Saudi Arabia. As the laws there strictly prohibit ‘cohabitation without marriage contract’, though Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are apparently exempted.
However, Al Nassr quashed those claims, saying, ‘We all heard about what’s called fake news, but this is an obnoxiously funny fake news! Jhon loves Riyadh and his house is near the club and the ground. He is our new family member.’
