One of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history, John Cena is all set to make a comeback to the sport, WWE confirmed on Tuesday. They announced that Cena will be appearing on the June 27 Raw to celebrate his 20th anniversary with the company. However, there is no clarity on what role Cena will be taking up on his return.

“BREAKING NEWS: @JohnCena returns to #WWERaw on Monday, June 27 to celebrate his 20 Year Anniversary with @WWE,” read the official tweet from WWE.

The 16-time World Champion John Cena also confirmed the development as he reshared the tweet from WWE with the caption “Been far too long and what a special occasion to be able spend with the @WWEUniverse! Laredo, TX, C U soon!!!".

John Cena will be appearing at the WWE RAW scheduled to be held in Laredo, Texas on 27 June. The date of his return is of special importance to Cena as he first joined the company on the exact same date back in 2002. For those who don’t know, Cena made his Tv debut as a newbie who challenged Kurt Angle on SmackDown in 2002. Although Cena lost to Angle, he earned praise from WWE Universe and even legends like The Undertaker that night.

Will Cena fight?

Although WWE has announced that John Cena will be present in Texas for a fight, it’s still unclear if the veteran wrestler will take part in any of the real action in the ring or not. Talking about his last appearance in the ring, John Cena was last seen fighting against Roman Reigns in the Universal Championship at last year's SummerSlam.

He did not take part in any of the fights since then and has been focusing on his new career. And John Cena is making it big with his acting roles as the wrestler-turned-actor has brought in huge success with his recent projects like his main role in Peacemaker or his 2021 part in the Suicide Squad.
