The unbelievable five-match test series between India vs England saw a completely dramatic ending with India producing a thrilling comeback into the match and winning the game by a narrow margin of six runs. The crucial victory of the Indian cricket team saw them draw the series with England 2-2. Right from the batting department to the bowling lineup, the Indian players rose up to the occasion when their team needed them the most. Right from the fiery bowling of Siraj and Prasidh at the death to the valiant effort of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja to bat deep into the innings, the fifth test left fans in absolute shock and disbelief.

However, the social media did not hold back as they pinpointed the fact that Bumrah was absent in the matches in which India were victorious and some of the critics stated that Bumrah’s presence in the team was the reason why India did not win the other test matches. Silencing all of his critics, the All time Legend and ‘God’ of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar stated that India’s victories in the absence of Bumrah were just a mere coincidence.

Sachin Tendulkar praises the consistency of Jasprit Bumrah

Standing by his opinion, Sachin Tendulkar stated that Bumrah is an exceptional bowler, whatever he has achieved throughout his career is unbelievable. The consistency of Jasprit Bumrah is unmatchable. Reflecting upon Bumrah’s performance in the series, Tendulkar further stated that, “Bumrah started off really well—he took five wickets in the first Test. He didn’t play the second but returned for the third and fourth. At Lord’s, he picked up another five-wicket haul. So, out of three Tests, he’s taken five wickets twice.”

“I know people are discussing all sorts of things, like India winning the matches he didn’t play. But for me, that’s just a coincidence, to be honest”, said Tendulkar. Bumrah was rested in the second and the fourth test of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy to manage his workload. The Indian bowlers stepped up during his absence and won both the tests in his absence. The Indian pace trio of Siraj, Prasidh and Akash Deep produced some unbelievable moments in the test series which true cricket fans will never forget in their lifetime.
