While Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are fresh from the signing of superstar Lionel Messi, there were several reports which linked Cristiano Ronaldo's potential move to the club. However, recent revelation suggests that there was in fact, no such communication or intention from the club which already boasts several of the finest footballers in modern-day game.

A tweet from transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano confirmed that PSG were never planning to sign the Portugal star. He even attributed a quote to Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri according to which he knew that "Paris Saint-Germain were never planning to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. Juventus manager Allegri confirms: 'Cristiano told me he’s staying at Juventus. He’s not leaving the club and it was never a problem, he’s training so well'. Earlier, Ronaldo made it clear that he was not returning to Real Madrid as his story at the La Liga side has "already been written." The Portugal forward is contracted at Juventus until next June, however, there were several reports which suggested he could return to Madrid where he enjoyed a successful stint from 2009-18.

Ronaldo termed such reports and talks as "disrespectful." He also shared a picture of himself with a finger on his lip, as if wanting these scribes to shut up.

"More than the disrespect for me as a man and as a player, the frivolous way that my future is covered in the media is disrespectful to all the clubs involved in these rumors, as well as to their players and staff," he wrote.

"I remain focused on my career and in my work, committed and prepared for all the challenges that I have to face. Everything else? Everything else is just talk," he had concluded that social media note in style.

Meanwhile, former Barcelona skipper Messi is yet to make his PSG debut. While it was reported that he could feature in an away match at Reims on August 29, it could get postponed to September 12, if the club are looking to make it a grand affair in front of a packed home stadium.
