Who says it’s too late to live your dream? Well, if someone does that, show them the story of Saleema Imtiaz who achieved her dream to officiate in an international game at the age of 41 years. M other of Pakistani women’s cricketer Kainat Imtiaz, Saleema officiated the Asia Cup 2022 match between India Women and Sri Lanka Women on Saturday to fulfil her dream. 

On her special day, Saleema’s daughter Kainat celebrated the achievement by writing a special post on social media. The Pakistani cricketer revealed how Saleema always wanted to represent the country at the international level. As she could not play for the country, Saleema went into umpiring and finally got the chance to officiate an international game. 

“Presenting my MOM as an UMPIRE for ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2022. I can’t be more proud of what she has achieved. Such a motivated person ♥️ It was always her dream to represent Pakistan, the dream I had been living for her until now. And today, finally after a very long wait she is going to represent Pakistan. We are going to represent Pakistan together 🇵🇰 Super Excited. Allhumdulillah,” wrote Kainat on Instagram while sharing a picture of her mother. 

“Officiated her 1st international game today INDIA 🇮🇳 vs SRILANKA 🇱🇰. Many many congratulations to MY DAD who has supported us through every step of the way. Encouraged us, made us never quit, made us more focused and for being the best critic.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also shared the video of Saleema’s and Kainat’s journey. In the video, the two talk about their journey to the level they have reached so far.
