Cricketers are major trendsetters across the globe, and knowing the fact, they often treat their fans with new looks. On Thursday, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a photo of Nitish Rana donning a new hairstyle trend with purple and gold streaks on it. Notably, Rana opted for two colours strongly associated with the Kolkata franchise over the years.

Rana was earlier picked by KKR for INR 8 Crore after the franchise won an intense bidding war against Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants. The left-handed batter impressed everyone with his performance in the previous IPL season but lost his momentum in the middle to end up with 383 runs in 16 innings at an average of 29.46 with two half-centuries.

A crazy new look for KKR's Nitish Rana

He made some critical contributions in the middle and played different roles in the side to get Kolkata Knight Riders into the finals of last season. He can also roll his arm over with some useful off-spin and can be counted as an all-rounder who can chip in if needed, which would have been another reason why KKR wanted him back in the squad once again.

After receiving so much love from his franchise, it seems like Nitish Rana also wanted to express his gratitude and he has certainly done that in some style. His look for IPL 2022 is a clear reflection of the amazing bond that player and franchise share with each other.

Rana's impressive performance with KKR in the previous edition earned him a maiden call for the national squad for the Sri Lankan tour, and he went on to make his debut in both T20I and ODI format. Rana will play a vital role in the KKR squad, which will enjoy the leadership of Shreyas Iyer. Talking about his hairstyle, the left-handed batsman had done something similar last season as well.

Jadeja also once paid tribute to CSK with his epic hairstyle

Reflecting on cricketers giving tribute to their franchises by donning different looks, Ravindra Jadeja, in his early days with Chennai Super Kings, craved one side of the head and got 'CSK' written on his head. His hairstyle was widely discussed and became popular amongst the fans of one of the most successful franchises in IPL. Recently, Jadeja had revealed that his former teammate Suresh Raina suggested him to get a hairstyle that could act as fitting tribute to Chennai Super Kings.
