Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has questioned KL Rahul's captaincy during 2nd ODI against Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Following Rohit Sharma's injury in the 2nd ODI, KL Rahul was tasked with the captaincy responsibilities, but the top-order batter could have led to a much-needed win in the series for Team India.

While batting first, Bangladesh had a horrific start to their innings as they were once reduced to 69/6 in 18.6 overs, but unbeaten Mehidy Hasan Miraz (100* off 83) and Mahmudullah (77 off 96) stitched crucial partnership in the middle to post 271/7 in the 2nd innings. In response, Indian batters could only post 266/9 as most of the batters faltered during the run-chase.

With that defeat, Team India lost the opportunity to level the three-match series, as Bangladesh took an unassailable lead in the bilateral contest. Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer raised serious question on the India's vice-captain and his ability to lead the squad at international stage.

"It's difficult when your captain is in (not on the field) and the keeper has to lead.  KL Rahul is not a very experienced captain, especially at the international level. That may have had an effect, but that can’t be an excuse. You’ve got to give credit to Bangladesh,” Jaffer said while talking to ESPNcricinfo.

While Team India lost the ODI series against Bangladesh, visitors have been hit with couple of injuries in their camp as the likes of Rohit Sharma, Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Sen have been ruled out of the series. However, Kuldeep Yadav has been added to the ODI squad for the third and final match.
