Madhya Pradesh right-arm fast bowler Kuldeep Sen has been added to India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2022. The 25-year-old pacer, who played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2022, has been added as a net bowler to assist the players in their preparations.

Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Selection Committee has named three standby players apart from a 15-member squad. Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer, and Deepak Chahar have been named the three standby players while Sen has been added to the squad as a net bowler.

According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, Sen got a call from BCCI Selection Committee chief Chetan Sharma who asked the pacer to join the team in Mumbai. Sen then flew to the UAE with the rest of the squad. Sen's brother revealed that Chetan Sharma contacted the pacer on 22 August and he was asked to immediately reach Mumbai where the rest of the squad was present.

Notably, Sen was pretty impressive for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022. The right-arm quick got a chance to play after Nathan Coulter-Nile was ruled out and proved his worth. Sen consistently clocked the 145kph mark and impressed everyone with his sharp bowling. In seven matches of IPL 2022, Sen picked eight wickets.

Overall, Kuldeep Sen has 20 wickets in 25 T20s. The 25-year-old has also pretty impressive numbers in First Class cricket wherein he has bagged 44 wickets in 28 innings of 16 matches.
