The Men in Blue are currently locking horns in three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. After winning the first ODI by 67 runs, the Rohit Sharma-led side will aim to seal the series with a win in the second. The hosts were invited to field first after Dasun Shanaka opted to bat first. The Sri Lankan debutant shone with the bat as he scored a 63-ball 50.
After quick first wicket, India struggled in the middle and gave too many runs with no wicket. Not long when Kuldeep Yadav was called into the attack. The replacement of Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc of the Sri Lanka batting order as he scalped three quick wickets in just five overs.
In his third over, he dismissed Kusal Mendis (34) and then went on to send back Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka (2). It wasn’t a long wait as the spinner dismissed Charith Asalanka (15) in his very next over. With this wicket, he also completed 200 wickets in intentional cricket.
Fans were quick to react on Kuldeep Yadav’s comeback in the Indian colours. While some heaped praise on Yadav’s comeback, some slammed BCCI that he might be dropped in the next match.
