BCCI is most likely to resume with the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE starting from September 17, with the final being played on October 10. However, the availability of foreign players has been one of the biggest headaches for the Indian Cricket Board. The September-October window is packed with a busy international calendar ahead of the T20 World Cup scheduled to take place later this year, owing to which many cricketers will be busy with their national commitments. While Ashley Giles, Director for Cricket of ECB has already hinted that the centrally contracted English players would be missing the remainder of IPL 2021, players from other teams like New Zealand, Australia and West Indies are also doubtful.
I have no idea really: Jamieson
On being asked whether he’d be available for the second phase of IPL 2021, the RCB pacer Kyle Jamieson spoke up that he is unsure of his participation in the remainder of the tournament. “To be fair I have no idea really. That news came out a couple of days ago, we have not had any conversation about it,” Jamieson said. He further mentioned that as of now the Blackcaps are focusing on their Test series against England and the World Test Championship final. “We don’t want to look too far ahead,” he added.
The 26-year-old will next be seen in action in the 2-match Test series against England, starting June 2, ahead of the WTC final.
Jamieson’s season with RCB in IPL 2021
The 26-year old Kiwi pacer was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping price of 15 Crore in the IPL 2021 player auction held in February. Jamieson proved to be the second highest wicket-taker for Virat Kohli’s side after Harshal Patel, picking 9 wickets across 7 matches in the first leg of IPL 2021.
