17-year-old Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal shared a video showing his blood-stained socks and foot post Barcelona’s latest match on his Instagram story. FC Barcelona travelled to the Canary Islands to take on Las Palmas on February 23 in match-day 25 of LaLiga. Lamine Yamal was in the starting lineup for the Blaugrana outfit alongside Robert Lewandowski and Raphinnha in the forward line which saw FC Barcelona come out victorious in their outing at Las Palmas with a steady 2-0 win.
Lamine Yamal gave the assist for the first goal which came through Dani Olmo in the 62nd minute. Yamal was subbed off for Ferran Torres in the 85th minute, who then went on to score Barca’s second goal to seal the match result.

Post the match, Lamine Yamal shared a video showing his blood-stained socks and foot and wrote, “No Es Falta”, which means “It’s not a foul” on his Instagram story. He was referring to the incident on the pitch when the Las Palmas defender bundled him over resulting in that injury on his foot but the referee refused to give it as a foul. The video was also shared by the football media channel 433 on their social media pages and it received a lot of mixed reactions from fans.
“LaLiga is a joke” was the comment by one fan who expressed his anger over the referee’s decision being taken in the Spanish League. Other fans were criticizing the 17-year old over his latest comments about the referees roughly three days ago. Moreover, Yamal commented, “I believe that we cannot complain, Barca, Madrid and Atletico. I think the referees try to do their best.” The fans also accused the 17-year-old of displaying double standards when it comes to criticizing the Spanish referees.
There has been a lot of talk recently over the officiating in LaLiga; mainly over the need for uniformity in referee decisions and protection of player’s health being the need of the hour.
