With the IPL 2024 just days away from start, the Lucknow Super Giants have signed in former South Africa cricketer Lance Klusener as their Assistant Coach. One of the most prolific all-rounders of his time, Klusener will work under the leadership of Australia’s Justin Langer.

The IPL franchise made the announcement official late on Friday, March 1. The Lucknow-based franchise in its official statement stated, “Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have added South African legend Lance Klusener to their formidable roster of coaches for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.” However, they captioned the post on X (formerly Twitter), “Durban se aaya humara dost Lance Klusener joins our coaching staff for the season”.

The 52-year-old will begin his second stint as a coach in the cash-rich league after earlier serving as an assistant to Shaun Pollock at the Mumbai Indians in the initial years of the league. It is to be further added that Klusener is also the head coach of the SA20 franchise Durban Super Giants and even guided them to the final, earlier this year.  Check the top betting trends on the  best betting apps in India  and sites.

LSG in their statement also wished Klusener luck as the franchise begins their preparations for the upcoming season. “We wish him a fantastic upcoming IPL campaign and are sure he will contribute greatly to the franchise during his time in India,” LSG wrote.

Speaking of LSG’s IPL 2024 schedule, the KL Rahul-led side will begin their campaign against the Rajasthan Royals on March 24 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announcing the first half of the schedule, LSG will play two home matches and two away fixtures.
