The T20 World Cup has always lived up to all the hype and expectations surrounding it and this year has been no different. Over the years we have had multiple awestrucking performances that have made a room in our hearts. From Chris Gayle’s decade long domination to Virat Kohli’s ultimate knock at the 2024 final, we have seen it all. Despite being the shortest format of white ball cricket, the T20 World Cup has produced multiple centurions.

Let us take a look at the top 5 fastest 100s in the T20 World Cup.

1. Finn Alenn – 2026 (vs South Africa)

Finn Allen amazed the cricketing fraternity by scoring the fastest ton in the history of the T20 World Cup. He went all out against South Africa and led his side to only their second final in the history of the competition. Allen took just 34 balls to reach his century and made a record for the ages to come. His innings included ten fours and eight sixes and just four dot balls.

2. Chris Gayle – 2016 (vs England)

Chris Gayle held the record for the fattest T20 ton for almost a decade until Finn Allen broke it. His fastest T20I century came against England during a Super 10 clash. Gayle needed just 47 balls to reach the 100 mark and guided West Indies to a six wicket win at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with eleven balls to spare. He racked up five fours and eleven sixes along with a strike rate of 208.33.

3. Chris Gayle – 2007 (vs South Africa)

Chris Gayle also holds the record for the third fattest century at the T20 World Cup. Gayle’s ton also happens to be the first century in the history of the competition. It dates back to 2007, the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup when Gayle stormed past South Africa with a fifty ball century and helped his side put a total of 205 at the end of 20 overs. Although the West Indies lost that game, Gayle etched his name in history forever.

4. Harry Brook – 2026 (vs Pakistan)

England’s new white ball captain Harry Brook takes the fourth position for the fattest T20 World Cup century. Brook helped England get past Pakistan with a 100 in just 50 balls during a Super 8 clash. The 27-year-old looked in midas touch against the Falcons and led his side from the front like a true leader. Brook scored his century with the help of ten fours and four sixes and a whopping strike rate of 200.

5. Brendon McCullum – 2012 (vs Bangladesh)

The fifth fastest T20 World Cup century belongs to former New Zealand great Brendon McCullum. The former Black Caps’ skipper took just 51 deliveries to reach the triple digit mark against Bangladesh during a group stage match in Sri Lanka. McCullum showcased his aggressive style of batting and went hard against the opponent bowlers as New Zealand wrapped up a 59 run win.
