Lando Norris, the British driver, 25, who competes in F1 for McLaren, has eight Grands Prix wins across seven seasons in the competition. Norris was also the runner-up in the Formula One World Drivers' Championship with McLaren in 2024. As of the ongoing 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, he also has 13 pole positions, 17 fastest laps, and 37 podiums to his name in Formula One.
Lando Norris has a contract with McLaren until 2027 which will see him continue to be with them alongside his team-mate Oscar Piastri, fighting for the F1 Drivers' World Championship. In his recent intereviesw, Norris spoke about what will decide the F1 title in the 2025 season, and said, "It's just who qualifies first and second more often. And you kind of just hold on in Turn One and then go from there. There's not been many races where positions have swapped through a race. So therefore it's more who can make the least mistakes when they qualify first."
Norris glides past Piastri; takes top spot in FP1 at Hungarian Grand Prix
In the opening practice ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lando Norris edged past his team-mate Piastri and took the first spot in the opening FP1. The dynamic Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finished in the third and fifth spot respectively. Following the practice race, Hamilton stated that he was facing some issues with his car as it ran off the road at the first corner following a major lock-up. Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar continued to impress as he finished in the fourth position.
Currently, Lando Norris is focused on performing well and clinching pole position in the Hungarian Grand Prix as he trails his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri by 16 points heading into this weekend following the latter’s win in Belgium. Both the drivers will look forward to perform well for the team and finish the Hungarian F1 weekend on a high.
