Aust ralian Open 2024  runner-up Daniil Medvedev and Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Alexander Zverev will join Carlos Alcaraz at the Laver Cup 2024. This year's event will take place at Mercedes-Benz Arena, Berlin from September 20-22. The trio will be part of  Team Europe led by tennis Bjorn Borg.

Ahead of this year's event, Team World are the two-time defending champions with back-to-back Laver Cup titles in London (2022) and Vancouver (2023). Hence  Bjorn Borg has actively drafted three of the top six players in the ATP rankings. The 2024 edition of the Laver Cup will be the first for Alcaraz while  Medvedev and Zverev have previously won the event.

Speaking about the newest additions to Team Europe, Borg said,  “Team Europe is super motivated to win back the Cup in Berlin. With Daniil, Sascha and Carlos on my team, I think we have an excellent chance of making that happen. The guys have had an incredible start to the year, and this is a really strong first half of our lineup. I’m thrilled to have these champions in the fold for 2024.”

Similarly,  Alexander Zverev expressed excitement about playing in the tournament, especially on home soil. "I’m so excited about returning to Laver Cup,” said Zverev. “The atmosphere is always electric and for the Laver Cup to be at home in Germany, for me in particular, is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Team World has won the last two Laver Cups so we are highly motivated to bring the Cup back to Europe and hopefully, with the support of the local fans, we can do it on home soil.”

Similarly,  Daniil Medvedev shared how he wants to bring back th cup to Team Europe alongside Alcaraz and  Zverev.  "For me, the most exciting thing about Laver Cup is always the team spirit, because it’s very rare that I get to play team competitions in tennis,” he said. “Having Carlos and Sascha on our team will help a lot because they are two of the best players in the world and I’m really excited to try and get Team Europe back to their winning ways."
