Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James continues to break records, even in his career’s 21st year in the NBA. The Lakers beat the New Orleans Pelicans 133-89 on Thursday, December 7 (IST), in the Lakers' In-Season Tournament semifinal fixture in Las Vegas. The game concluded with the Lakers advancing to the final of the tournament. They are now just one step away from winning their first-ever NBA in-season tournament champion title.

James scored 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including a perfect 3 of 3 from the 3-point line along with four assists and two rebounds. After the first half, the Lakers had built a 13-point lead with the scoreline reading 67-54. In the second half, James and his teammates pushed the lead further and to as many as 44 points.

The 38-year-old recorded the quickest 30-point game in the entire Lakers’ history. He finished the game with 30 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in just 23 minutes. The NBA legend has made a total of 21 appearances this season and averages 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.

In the in-season final, the Lakers will lock horns with the Indiana Pacers on December 10. After the game, Lakers’ Anthony Davis said, "The whole environment was amazing. It's the first time any of us have been in the in-season tournament, let alone the finals. The excitement around it, the atmosphere, the energy, the competitiveness it brings out in teams. I think it's going to be fun."

James said, "The in-season tournament has been good to us. But we got to finish our breakfast on Saturday. That's the first thing."
