Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time F1 world champion, officially arrived at the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello, Italy, as their new driver on Monday, January 20, marking the start of an historic association between two parties. The 40-year-old celebrated the first day at the F1 team’s headquarters in style, featuring in a classic-themed photoshoot alongside the iconic Ferrari F40 car, talking about how he couldn’t be happier to realise one of his dreams today.
Notably, Lewis Hamilton signed a multi-year contract with Ferrari at the start of last year, shocking the world of sports by bringing an end to his successful tenure with Mercedes, where he won six F1 world titles. On January 1, 2025, the contract signed by Lewis Hamilton to become the new driver for Ferrari officially began, but he showed up at their headquarters just about three weeks later after enjoying some time off and celebrating his 40th birthday on January 7.

In his latest post on the official Instagram account, Lewis Hamilton shared a picture of his classic-themed photoshoot as a Ferrari driver, and wrote, “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days. I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.”
“Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together,” Lewis Hamilton further wrote.
Moreover, the British driver is set to team up with Monaco’s Charles Leclerc at Ferrari for the upcoming 2025 F1 season. The first major appearance under Ferrari car for Lewis Hamilton will be at the pre-season testing in Bahrain, which is scheduled to happen from February 26 to 28, while the first race of the season will be in Australia from March 14 to 16.
