Portuguese club Benfica are having a tremendous season in European competitions as they held star-studded Paris Saint-Germain on a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League clash on October 6 and maintained their top spot in the Portuguese league by defeating Rio Ave 4-2 on Saturday. However, the win was overshadowed by the Rio Ave goalkeeper, who made a blunder in front of the goal.

Benfica haven't lost a single game this season in Portugal and currently placed on the top with eight wins in nine games while the 11th placed Rio Ave have managed to win just two games in their nine outings.

On Saturday's game, Rio Ave started brilliantly and took the lead with a 6-minute goal, but the home side responded dynamically with an equalizer after just seven minutes. Benfica claimed the lead before the 20-minute mark as the visitors' goalkeeper, Jhonatan Luiz made a blunder that led to an own goal.

Rio Ave midfielder Miguel Baeza made a back pass to the goalkeeper to continue their ball-possession when the scores were at level. However, Jhonatan's heavy touch directed the ball at the back of the net as the Benfica midfielder Diogo Goncalves was approaching towards the ball.
