Liverpool are currently witnessing a disappointing and frustrating start in the Premier League season after registering just two victories in their eight outings. On Sunday, the Reds faced a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal in the league and to worsen the situation, forward Luis Diaz suffered a knee injury to get sidelined until December.

The 25-year-old Colombian international, who was one of the in-form players for Liverpool, has sustained a knee injury during his team's clash against Arsenal on Sunday.

After having a scan on Monday, it was clear that the forward doesn't require surgery. However, the injury has ruled out the forward for at least 10 games before the league pauses for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

In the first half, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey landed on Diaz's knee, which resulted into the forward leaving the Emirates Stadium on crutches wearing a knee brace. With the injury, Diaz will come back into the action after the upcoming world cup as he won't be a part of the tournament after Colombia failed to qualify for the event.

The Reds are scheduled to face Rangers at the Ibrox Stadium in their UEFA Champions League group fixture on Wednesday night before hosting defending champions Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on October 16.

Liverpool will play 10 matches before the pause and will return to action against Aston Villa on 26 December at the Villa Park.
