The incident is not being treated as terrorism: Merseyside Police
Following the gruesome incident, the people who were injured, including children, got treatment at a hospital in Water Street, and as per Karen Jaundrill, the Detective Chief Superintendent, all the people getting medical treatment are in a stable condition. The United Kingdom Prime Minister, Keir Starmer was appalled by the scenes in Liverpool in the aftermath of the incident while sending his thoughts with everyone injured or affected by it.
Moreover, the Assistant Chief Constable of the Merseyside Police, Jenny Sims, was quoted as saying about the matter, “It is believed the driver of the Ford Galaxy car involved in this incident was able to follow an ambulance on to Water Street, after the roadblock was temporarily lifted so that the ambulance crew could attend to a member of the public who was having a suspected heart attack.”
“There was no intelligence to suggest an incident of this nature would take place and, as we previously stated, the incident is not being treated as terrorism,” she added.
