Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on holding talks with Colombian winger Luis Diaz and his camp over a new contract in the summer, to keep one of their brightest performers in recent memory at Anfield. The 28-year-old, whose current contract with Liverpool is set to run out in 2027, has been pushing to sign an improved deal with the Merseyside club since last year, and he might get his wish very soon.

As per the report published by TBR Football, Luis Diaz was linked with Barcelona recently, and Saudi Pro League clubs are also interested in securing the signatures of the footballer. It is understood that Arne Slot considers the Colombian footballer worthy of a new contract beyond his current stay until 2027, which is something the latter has been looking forward to getting for quite some time.

Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, and Conor Bradley are also set to be in talks with Liverpool: Reports

The talks between Luis Diaz and Liverpool were supposed to happen earlier, but due to the situation surrounding the future of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk not being clear until recently, it didn’t happen. While both the parties are seemingly on the same page at this stage, there isn’t a guarantee that the deal between them will go through in the coming weeks, and it depends on the player’s demands.

Apart from Luis Diaz, the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, and Conor Bradley are also set to be in talks with Liverpool about a new contract in the near future. Moreover, it is important to not forget that Liverpool are already losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to a free transfer in the summer, which is something they won’t be wanting to happen with few of the other players in the squad.
