Indian Premier League (IPL)’s one of the newest franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, January 20 announced their captain for the upcoming edition of the tournament. Speaking in a special press conference cum discussion at the RPSG headquarters in Kolkata, which had their Principal Owner and Chairman of RPSG Group, Sanjiv Goenka, along with star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in attendance, LSG confirmed the star player as their skipper.

It is to be noted that the Lucknow-based franchise secured Rishabh Pant for a record-breaking price of INR 27 Crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. He not only became the most expensive player in the IPL auction history, he also broke the record of Shreyas Iyer, who was bought for INR 26.75 by Punjab Kings.
