NBA Star LeBron James cleared on Wednesday, July 12, that he will be returning to the court for his 21st season. James was at the 2023 ESPY Awards when he made it clear that he still has a lot more to offer to the game. The American basketball star openly talked about his retirement when Denver Nuggets swept James’ Lakers in the Western Conference finals. But after these comments, James will become the sixth player in NBA history to play in the 21st season or beyond.

Accepting the ESPY award for Best Record-Breaking Performance, James, in his speech, thanked his sons Bronny and Bryce, along with his wife and daughter Savannah and Zhuri. He also thanked his fans and teammates in his acceptance speech. The Lakers’ star also addressed his ideas that he might consider retirement after a 20-year career, which never slowed down.

He said, "When the season ended, I said I wasn't sure if I was going to keep playing, and I know a lot of experts told you, guys, what I said, but I'm here now speaking for myself. In that moment, I'm asking myself if I can still play without cheating the game. Can I give everything to the game still? Truth is, I've been asking myself this question at the end of the season for a couple years now."

The Ohio-born star added, "The day I can't give the game everything on the floor is the day I'll be done. Lucky for you guys, today is not that day."

I think LeBron James is the baddest mother... - Savannah James before getting interrupted by daughter Zhuri

Even though the NBA star was presented with the award, the real showstopper was Zhuri, who was at the award night. LeBron’s wife Savannah, along with his three children made an appearance on the stage. Savannah said, "I want to tell you what I think: I think LeBron James is the baddest mother...” However, she was cut short as Zhuri interrupted her and said, “Mom”, signalling her to not say anything, leaving everyone in splits.
