The former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly celebrated his 51st birthday on Saturday, and ex-teammates flooded social media wishing ‘Dada’. The occasion was also notable because Ganguly had promised something a little special for the occasion. The surprise was revealed to be a leadership course, taught by the ex-skipper himself. The “Sourav Ganguly masterclass” in leadership is available through an app released to the app store, in collaboration with Classplus.

Among the people wishing Ganguly on his birthday were BCCI secretary Jay Shah, former teammates like Rahul Dravid and Suresh Raina, as well as top IPL teams such as the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Shah tweeted: “Happy Birthday, Dada! May the almighty bless you with good health and prosperity. Have a great year ahead and I look forward to seeing you soon.” The chairman also shared a jovial photo of the two.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina called Ganguly a “true legend on and off the pitch”. The Kolkata Knight riders shared an awesome piece of art depicting the 51-year-old as a King, with the caption “Maharaja tomare selam.”
