The domestic talent in Maharashtra will surge to great heights as another edition of the Maharashtra Premier League is set to kickstart on June 2, 2024. The T20-based cricket event is founded and organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association. All the matches are slated to be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Gahunje, Pune.
The league features six teams that will be representing the respective cities of the Maharashtra State. However, it doesn’t include the state capital Mumbai. The participating teams in the event are Ratnagiri Jets, Kolhapur Tuskers, Solapur Royals, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings, Puneri Bappa, and Eagle Nashik Titans.
It consists of 34 matches where four matches will be playoff games. It will be played in a double round-robin format where every team will play against each other twice. Teams finishing in the top four will advance to the next stage where Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Summit clash will be played.
