Kyle Walker, the captain of Manchester City, has joined AC Milan on a loan deal for the remainder of the season after completing a medical on Thursday, January 24. When the loan deal runs its course in the upcoming summer, AC Milan will have the option to buy the 34-year-old on a full-time contract, and in the meantime, he could make his debut for the Italian club in the Serie A clash on Sunday, January 27, against Parma at the San Siro.
Notably, with the completion of the move to AC Milan, Kyle Walker is set to reunite with fellow English footballers, including names like Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Tammy Abraham. The right-back will wear the number 32 shirt at AC Milan, and he is already looking forward to the new chapter in his football career in Italy, in his latest post on social media platform X.
I can’t wait to pull on the Rossoneri shirt and get started: Kyle Walker
In the same post, Kyle Walker was happy to be a part of AC Milan, a club which felt to him like his own since the early years of his life. He wrote, “I’m delighted and proud to sign for AC Milan! A club with such rich history, one I’ve followed since I was a kid. It’s an honour to join and I can’t wait to pull on the Rossoneri shirt and get started. I’m very much looking forward to this new chapter in my career and to beginning this journey with my family in Italy.”
Kyle Walker also shared a parting message to Manchester City teammates, coaching staff, and fans, who were an integral part of his journey for the better part of last decade on Instagram. He had a special thank you message for manager Pep Guardiola “for believing in me and working so hard to bring me here in 2017. Together, we've celebrated 17 trophies, and your guidance has helped shape me into the player I am today. I'll be forever grateful.”
Moreover, in his 319 appearances for Manchester City, Kyle Walker was one of the go-to players for his manager Pep Guardiola for quite some time, and they managed to win the treble for the first-time in club’s history in the 2022-23 season.
