Manchester City have put a freeze on pricing the season and matchday tickets for the 2025-26 season after holding talks with their fan advisory board ‘City Matters’. After some of its representatives went on a protest last month due to Manchester City not discussing with them about tickets, the English champions came around at long last, holding an extraordinary meeting with them on April 3, which ended up being fruitful.

Notably, as per the report from BBC Sport, the decision from Manchester City to freeze their ticket prices came after “positive and constructive dialogue” with ‘City Matters’ over recent weeks. The strike from the group representatives happened last month after they had sent an open letter to the City Chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak in February, wherein they had complained about rising ticket prices, which would make it inaccessible to many local fans according to them.

Manchester City faced more criticism after signing global parternship agreement with Viagogo

The official statement from Manchester City on the situation read, “The club would like to thank City Matters representatives for the feedback they provide on a range of topics relating to ticketing, and for sharing a broad range of perspectives from the fans they represent.” It came after they had faced more fan criticism when they signed a global partnership agreement with third-party ticket resale site Viagogo.

The fans protested against the agreement by staying in the concourses of the Etihad Stadium for the first nine minutes during their 2-0 win over Leicester City last week in the Premier League. Manchester City have said that their tickets sold on Viagogo will be from existing allocation of hospitality tickets, and it is going to have a fixed price cap without any dynamic ticket pricing.
