Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has announced his contract extension with the Premier League club that will feature him at the Etihad Stadium in the sky-blue jersey until 2027. After extending his contract, the 22-year-old City star said his 'dream has come true' to play for the club.

Foden's previous contract was valid till 2024, but his new contract would allow him to play for Manchester City for three more years. While playing for City, the exciting young midfielder has already won four Premier League and three EFL titles.

Foden took to official Twitter handle and announced, "So happy to have extended my contract at City ✍️😁 It was my dream to play for this club when I was a kid and I’m so grateful that my dream has come true! Looking forward to many more years here 🙌🏻.  Thank you to the fans for all your support 💙"

Phil Foden will earn five time his previous salary:

PFA Young Player of the Year winner was earning just £40,000 per-week in his previous contract while his new contract is expected to offer him £225,000 in wages - over five times his previously earning, according to Mirror. Phil Foden has been in exciting form this season as he struck a hattrick alongside Erling Haaland in City's 6-3 victory over Manchester United.

Foden has scored seven goals already this season across all competitions and said, "I have been a City fan all my life. I’ve trained here for so many years and I’ve even been a ballboy. I love this club so much, so to know I am going to be a part of it until 2027 feels amazing."

Manchester City will next face Liverpool at the Anfield in their Premier League 2022-23 clash on Sunday before hosting Brighton next week. The Premier League champions will travel to Signal Iduna Park to face Dortmund in their next UCL group stage fixture on October 25.
