Manchester United are predicted to have a busy summer with multiple incomings and outgoings scheduled for the transfer window and the latest name on the list seems to be Matheus Cunha. The Wolverhampton midfielder has been on the radar of many top clubs across Europe, and it is now understood that Manchester United are progressing well to secure his signature. United’s new manager Ruben Amorim is set to kickstart a new project with the Red Devils next season as it will mark his first full season in-charge of the club. And Matheus Cunha seems to have faith in the project the Portuguese manager is building.
Cunha initially joined Wolves on a loan deal from Atletico Madrid during 2024’s winter transfer and had an impressive season with 22 G/A, pushing the club to sign him on a permanent deal. Even in the current season, Cunha has been in impressive form scoring 16 goals and providing 4 assists in 31 games so far. His good string of performances has garnered eyeballs from across Europe as top clubs now are in the hunt to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder. Cunha has a 62.5 million pounds release clause and Manchester United will be willing to negotiate with their PL rivals for a lower price to sign him.
Who is part of Manchester United’s big summer rebuild?
Cunha is only one of the names who are reported to be linked to Manchester United for the upcoming summer. Another fan-favourite remains to be Victor Oshimen, who is currently playing in the Turkish League for Galatasaray. It is also reported that Manchester United will be looking to sign a new goalie after some really poor outing from Andre Onana in recent matches.
Along with these signings, a lot of existing squad members are expected to leave the club as well. Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, seems to be on the exit list for Amorim, while it was also reported that Rasmus Hojlund could also be sold in the upcoming transfer window.
