Manchester United are reportedly expected to go after Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling if they manage to reach the UEFA Champions League (UCL) for next season. The 19-year-old has been on the Manchester United radar after his impressive performances for Southampton, who have already been relegated from the Premier League, and he is highly likely to play in the English top flight considering the talent he possesses.
Notably, Southampton have 10 points to their name in the Premier League after 32 matches in the 2024-25 season, which puts them at risk of becoming the worst performing team in the history of the competition in terms of points since it began in 1992. If they aren’t able to score a point in the remaining six matches of the season, they could find themselves behind Derby County’s 11-point tally in the league a few years ago.
Tyler Dibling is one of the most sought-after player in Europe currently
As per the report published in ESPN, Southampton are looking for a whopping £100 million deal to sell Tyler Dibling in the summer, to cash in as much as they can on him before playing in the Championship next season. Apart from Manchester United, the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig, among others.
Moreover, Manchester United can’t make the UCL through the Premier League after accumulating just 38 points in their first 32 matches this season. With that, their only route to European football next season is the current edition of the UEFA Europa League (UEL), in which they are unbeaten, and set to take on Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals at the start of May.
