Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal is reported to have concrete interest in Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes. Al Hilal wants to compete with it’s Saudi competitors like Al Nassr and Al-Ittihad, who have already roped in top European talents, by signing big names and pushing for more trophies. They are also set to undergo a change in leadership after sacking current coach Jorge Jesus and will be looking to sign appropriate talents according to the new manager’s requirements. Bruno Fernandes has been playing some really good football despite United’s poor results.
It is understood that Bruno Fernandes is an integral part of Ruben Amorim’s plans for the future and therefore remains untouchable. While Amorim is expected to show the door to a lot of current squad members during the upcoming transfer window, Fernandes will not be on that list. Although Saudi clubs are known to lure big players by offering extremely high transfer fees and wages, Fernandes seems to be committed to Manchester United’s project under Ruben Amorim and still has a lot of years left at Old Trafford.
Bruno becomes first-ever player with 30 goal contributions in Europa League
With his current contract running until June 2027, talks about a contract extension have not been initiated as of now. Regardless, Bruno has been enjoying some of his best seasons at Man Utd and has been rather underrated when it comes to listing top midfielders in Europe. With 37 G/A in 52 games so far, Bruno is only second to Mohammed Salah in most number of assists in the Premier League. His Europa League stats have been equally impressive as well.
With his recent heroics in the second tier European competition, Bruno became the first player in Europa League history to reach 30 direct goal contributions. He has emerged as one of the few bright spots for United in a season filled with uncertainty and struggles.
