Formula 1 racer Max Verstappen got involved in a small incident in the Canadian Grand Prix 2023 as he ran over a bird. The two-time champion was leading the race with a blazing-fast speed and went over a bird that was sitting on a kerb at the exit of turn four. The Dutchman made it four straight victories by going ahead Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, extending his lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings, and this was Red Bull's 100th Grand Prix victory.

During the race, as Verstappen was leading the race he went over a bird, which went underneath his car as he was about to exit the corner. Though the footage of the car showed that the bird managed to fly away, the RB19 was so quick that it was simply unable to avert it. It seems the bird went through the car’s front right suspension and brake duct area. Right after hitting the bird, Verstappen reported the incident and said, "I think I hit a bird!"

Luckily, the incident didn’t have any effect on the Red Bull racer and he continued to push ahead. Usually, it has been seen that such small incidents have an adverse effect on the racer, and lead to severe accidents. Apart from that, Verstappen had another scary incident during the race when the race was approaching its end. The F1 racer bounced the underside of his car on the raised kerb around the ninth turn. The 25-year-old avoided picking any damage despite being left shaken up completely. He could be heard saying on the radio, "I almost knocked myself out on that kerb!"

Despite having two threatening incidents during the race, the Dutch racer managed to win it seamlessly.
