Former Australia captain has predicted India’s victory in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 to be played in Pakistan and Dubai. He also said India skipper Rohit Sharma will end up the leading run-getter in the tournament to be played for 19 days. Ahead of the colossal 50-over competition, the Men in Blue looked whitewashed England in the three-match ODI series at home. In the second ODI played in Cuttack, he played an incredible knock of 119 off 90 and also regained his form.

In a podcast with Beyond23 Cricket, Clarke said Rohit’s performance will be essential for India’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. “Well, I am saying India is going to win (Champions Trophy). I am going to go with their captain, who’s back in form. I am going to say Rohit Sharma—leading run scorer in the tournament. It’s good to see him making runs again. I think India need him for sure,” said Clarke in the podcast.

Rohit has looked amazing for India in the Champions Trophy. The right-handed batter was the second-highest run-scorer in the Champions Trophy 2017, hitting 304 runs with a ton and two fifties in five matches, at a strike rate of 86.85.

Jofra Archer will end up as the most successful bowler in the tournament, predicts Aussie legend

Clarke also picked up England speedster Jofra Archer as his favourite to become the highest wicket-taker in the upcoming competition. He also said Travis Head will be the player of the tournament as the star left-handed batter has looked exceptional recently.

"I want to go with Jofra Archer—leading wicket-taker. I know England; I am not expecting them to do that well, but I think he’s a superstar,” said Clarke on Archer. Discussing Travis Head’s form, the Aussie said, “I am going to go with Travis Head (for Player of the Tournament). His IPL form was phenomenal. He is ready to go again.”

The Champions Trophy 2025 will begin on February 19, with the hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. India will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, at the iconic Dubai International Stadium.
