Just ahead of the first Ashes Test, the England and Australian team were forced to evacuate Edgbaston after a fire alarm hit the stadium. This incident took place on Tuesday, June 13 when the teams where present in the vicinity of the stadium.

 

Additionally, as soon as the fire alarm went on, Moeen Ali, who was addressing the pre-match press conference ahead of first Ashes Test was also interrupted. The spinner, who came out of retirement after Jack Leach was ruled out of the upcoming Ashes series was speaking to the media when the alarms rang.

 

Furthermore, players, staff and media of both the teams were forced to make an exit from Edgbaston and were rushed to the car parking area. However, it is reported that things came back to normality in 15 minutes and were allowed to enter the premises.
