Former India captain MS Dhoni who led his team to win all three ICC trophies celebrated his 42nd birthday on July 7, Friday. Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the most loved cricketers, and this can be understood by the fact that the social media was flooded with wishes for the Ranchi-born where his fans and members from the cricket fraternity posted their greetings for the birthday boy. The cricket icon likes to keep it minimum when it comes to his social media presence and can rarely be seen being active on any of the platforms. However, the former India wicket keeper came out of his social media exile a day after his birthday and shared a glimpse of his celebration with his fans.
Fondly called Thala by his followers, MS Dhoni generally stays away from parties and likes to keep it very lowkey when it comes to celebrations. The 42-year-old chose the same route and preferred celebrating his birthday with his pet dogs at home in Ranchi.
Captain Cool gave a sneak peek of his celebrations and posted the video on his Instagram, where he could be seen cutting cake and feeding it to his dogs. The 2007 World Cup winning captain captioned the video, “Thanks a lot for all your warm wishes, a glimpse of what I did on my birthday.”
The video went viral in no time, garnering nearly 50 thousand comments in less than 20 minutes. Notably, the former star wicketkeeper underwent knee surgery post completion of the 2023 IPL season, where his side won their fifth IPL trophy. With his victory over Gujarat Titans in the final of the cash-rich league, Dhoni became the joint-most successful captain along with Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma.
