CSK to retain MS Dhoni if BCCI only allows two retentions: Reports
As per a report in Cricbuzz, the BCCI is considering the much debated move of classifying retired players as uncapped. Amidst the retention debate going on among the franchises, reports suggest that the BCCI is set to delay the announcement of retention rules to September end. The board is considering CSK’s request considering Dhoni’s participation will benefit both CSK as well as the IPL.
However, the reports also suggest that Dhoni’s retention is among the top priorities for CSK. In case BCCI allows only two retention per franchise, then the Ranchi boy would be retained. Speaking about the topic of cost for retention of uncapped players, the BCCI is considering the idea of deducting balance from the franchises’ purse based on the number of retentions and not categories of retentions.
