The captain of the Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, is reportedly expected to join their pre-season training camp next week after the rest of the squad started their preparation for the upcoming IPL 2024 season on Saturday, March 2. It has also been reported that the overseas stars of the Chennai Super Kings have not joined the pre-season training camp.
MS Dhoni, who led CSK to their fifth IPL title last season, is attending the pre-wedding bash of Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The three-day event began on March 1 at the Ambani Estate in the city, which has already seen a plethora of cricketing stars gracing it with their presence.
An official of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), spoke about the pre-season training camp of CSK, which began in Chennai this weekend, and said to PTI, “The first batch of local (Indian) players arrived on Friday and more are expected to arrive in the coming days.” Notably, the IPL season will begin on March 22, when Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Moreover, Paramjit Singh, the childhood friend of MS Dhoni, spoke to OneCricket about the CSK captain’s future in cricket. He said, “I do not think this will be his (MS Dhoni's) last season. He is still fit. I think he will play one or two more seasons. He will definitely play one more season. The reason is he is fit.”
