One of the greatest captains to have led the Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 42nd birthday on July 7, Friday. For all his admirers, fans and followers, the day is nothing less than a festival itself, and ‘MSDians’ ensured they leave no stone unturned in making the day extra special.  However, Dhoni, who likes to live a life away from any limelight, despite having minimal social media presence, kept trending the entire day and received thousands birthday wishes.  Some of his fans also gathered outside his house in Ranchi, and Captain Cool ensured their efforts didn't go in vain. 

A video has been doing rounds on social media where a few MS Dhoni fans gathered outside of Dhoni’s house in Ranchi and were greeted by the man himself. In the video, India’s jersey number 7 perennial could be seen waving back at his fans from the terrace. Needless to say, former India skipper’s fans couldn’t ask for a better return gift.

Fondly known as Thala, Dhoni equalled Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma to become the most successful IPL team’s captain in 2023. His side, Chennai Super Kings, defeated the 2022 title holders, Gujarat Titans, to lift the IPL trophy for the fifth time. In the entire season of the cash-rich league, there were speculations whether Dhoni would hang his boots post the completion of this season. 

However, the 2011 World Cup winning captain put an end to all the confusion and cleared that he would like to play one more season as a token of gratitude for all the support he has received from his fans. The CSK skipper underwent a knee surgery just after the IPL and is now spending quality time with his family in his hometown, Ranchi.
