Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday, February 4 announced their 18-member squad for the quarter-finals of the prestigious Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Notably, the defending champions will take on Haryana in the quarter-final of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Rohtak from February 8 onwards.
In the must-win game, the record-breaking champions have also included India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who recently led the Men in Blue to 4-1 series win against England at home. On the other hand, all-rounder Shivam Dube has also been included after the duo confirmed of their availability, as reported by a MCA official earlier.
Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube to return to domestic cricket for Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy QFs
Speaking of the 34-year-old, Suryakumar Yadav had a forgettable T20I series against England as he just scored 28 runs across the five T20Is, whereas Shivam Dube had a decent outing, winning one Player of the Match award for his fifty-plus score in the fourth T20I in Pune. Moreover, the Mumbai squad boosts of the likes of Ajinkya Rahane as well as Shardul Thakur, who are fighting for a spot in the Indian team.
Shardul Thakur has previously shown of his importance, playing a crucial knock in Mumbai’s must-win game against Meghalaya with his all-round performance. Apart from them, the side also includes the likes of Shams Mulani, alongside young talents such as Tanush Kotian, Ayush Mhatre and others.
