As the BCCI on Sunday announced the full-fledged schedule for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, it was cleared that the tournament opener will be played between Chennai and Kolkata on 26 March at the Wankhede Stadium. While the board announced the dates and venue for the 70 league games, the playoffs schedule is still awaited.
Nonetheless, it was enough for the fans to know when will their teams open their campaign and against which team. The Mumbai Indians fans will be excited to know that the five-time champions, being placed in Group A alongside KKR, RR, LSG, and DC, will open their campaign against Delhi Capitals on Sunday noon i.e. 27 March. They will face Rajasthan Royals in their second league game on 2 April. The Rohit Sharma-led team will face DC again in their last league game on 21 May.
