Kambli recently appeared in an interview, where he opened up on his health struggles. He said that he is doing ‘better’ but had a few major issues a month back. "I am better now. My wife takes care of me a lot. She took me to 3 different hospitals and told me 'You have to get fit'. Ajay Jadeja also came to visit me. It felt nice. I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and brought me back to my feet. My daughter, who is 10 years old, and my wife came to help me. This happened one month ago. My head started spinning; I collapsed and fell down. The doctor told me to get admitted,” Kambli spoke on Vickey Lalwani’s YouTube channel.

I have no hesitation; I will complete it and return: Vinod Kambli accepts financial aid from 1983 World Cup winning team

The 52-year-old reacted to the offer made by the 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev and the team. Kapil had said that they will bear the expenses of Kambli’s rehabilitation only if he is ready to help himself and is willing to improve his condition. In the same interview, Kambli opened up on his financial struggles and revealed that he is ready to improve his condition. Speaking about his current financial condition, Kambli said, “Bad.”

He added, "But the manner in which my wife has handled everything, hats off to her. [Sunil] Gavaskar was the first to react (to the offer made by Kapil Dev). Sure, I have no hesitation (to enter rehab), because until I have my family with me, I'm not afraid of anything, anybody. I will complete it and return. I will come back.”
