Four-time Grand Slam champion, Japan’s Naomi Osaka is currently in fine form as she recently secured straight set victory 6-4, 6-2 over Canada’s A. Arseneault to progress into the second round of the Montreal Open 2025. The Japanese international will return to action on Wednesday, July 30, where she is set to face Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova in round of 64.
While she will hope to continue her winning run, recently she has partnered with Tomasz Wiktorowski. This comes after Osaka confirmed her split with former coach Patrick Mouratoglou. “Merci Patrick ❤️ it was such a great experience learning from you. Wishing you nothing but the best. You are one of the coolest people l've ever met and I'm sure I'll see you around ” Naomi Osaka wrote in a post on X just hours prior to her win over the Canadian.
Noami Osaka to work with Tomasz Wiktorowski on trail basis
Recently, it came into light that Osaka, has now joined hands with Tomasz Wiktorowski, who was earlier seen coaching former World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. The Japanese has roped in Tomasz on a trial basis after he ended his tie with the Polish international last October.
During Wiktorowski’s stint with Iga Swiatek, which began in late 2021, the Polish won four of her six Grand Slam singles titles before adding the most recent at the Wimbledon 2025. Prior to this, the Polish tennis coach was seen along with Agnieszka Radwanska from 2011 to 2018, helping her reach the Wimbledon final along with helping her to reach World No. 2 ranking in July 2012.
As Osaka eyes to get back on track ahead of the US Open, she will hope this partnership bears some positive result with the tennis major set to be played from August 18 to September 7 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows.
