David Neres, one of the newest signings at Napoli, was robbed at gunpoint by two men on a motorcycle after their Serie A clash at home against Parma, which they won 2-1. After Napoli registered a famous victory with two goals in second half added time, it was revealed that David Neres’ Rolex watch was stolen just outside the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Notably, after Napoli signed David Neres from Benfica for €30 million on a four-year-deal, he made his club debut during their 3-0 win over Bologna this past Monday. Prior to being robbed outside the stadium in Naples, he was used off the bench in a late win for Napoli over Parma on Sunday, August 31.
The wife of David Neres took to Instagram to reveal the incident, and wrote, “David would like to say sorry to the fans who were waiting outside for him. While trying to leave the stadium after the game, two men on a motorcycle smashed the car and robbed him at gunpoint.”
According to the report from Italian website Calciomercato, David Neres’ Rolex watch was taken by the two robbers. They said, “A few steps from the Maradona, however, two people approached and broke the window of the car, pointing a gun at the footballer, aiming and obtaining his Rolex.”
The incident was later reported to the police in Italy, while David Neres arrived at the Grand Hotel Parker’s in Naples in front of fans, who were awaiting him.
