NBA Commissioner Adam Silver addressed the latest updates in the league’s investigation and announced that the NBA has discovered ‘additional information’ in the Ja Morant investigation. Notably, the Memphis Grizzlies star was spotted flaunting a gun in his Instagram Live for the second time in the month of May. He had got suspended with an eight-game suspension for a similar offence in March.
During a press conference ahead of Game 1 of the NBA Finals Silver told the reporters that the NBA has “uncovered a fair amount of additional information” in its investigation into Morant's behaviour. However, he also said that it would be unfair to the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets to announce the results during the finals. Hence, Silver said that Morant's punishment will be announced after the completion of the Finals.
While awaiting the results of the investigation, Morant was suspended from all the team activities by Memphis. Silver said, “We've uncovered a fair amount of additional information since I was last asked about the situation. We probably could have brought it to a head now, but we made the decision -- and I believe the Players Association agrees with us -- that it would be unfair to these players and these teams in the middle of this series to announce the results of that investigation.”

He added, “And given that we're in the offseason, he has been suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies indefinitely, so nothing would have changed anyway in the next few weeks. It seemed better to park that at the moment -- at least any public announcement -- and my sense now is that shortly after the conclusion of the Finals we will announce the results of that investigation."
Adam issued a strong statement when Morant was caught in March, which makes it obvious that the league will take strong action against the young star. Silver had called his actions “irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous.”
