On Monday, May 13, Netherlands announced their squad for T20 World Cup 2024, set to be played in June in the United States of America and West Indies. While Scott Edwards will continue to lead the side, the squad will be missing the services of some big players.

In a shocking move, veteran all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe and star batter Colin Ackermann, both miss out from the side. Moreover, the Dutch has gone with the likes of young options in left-arm spinner Tim Pringle, seamer Kyle Klein and hard-hitter Michael Levitt.

Apart from them, Edwards will be joined by the likes of star all-rounder Bas de Leede, Aryan Dutt, Max O’Dowd, among others. Speaking after the team selection, Head Coach Ryan Cook said, “We have been able to select a well-balanced team which we are confident will be able to perform in the conditions against the opposition we face in the US and West Indies.”

“All of the players have been training well and have been involved in the recent ProSeries with some exciting performances showing the growing depth and quality in Netherlands cricket. We have managed to perform admirably in the last two World Cups we have participated in and will be determined to rise to the challenges we face ahead to reach the next round of the tournament,” he further added.

The Dutch are placed in Group D of the T20 World Cup 2024, alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. The Scott Edwards-led side will begin their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on June 4 against Nepal at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
