New Zealand Cricket on Friday, January 31 added Jacob Duffy to their squad for the upcoming tri-nation series. Notably, New Zealand is set to lock horns in an ODI assignment against Pakistan and South Africa, starting from Saturday, February 8 in Pakistan. Just days ahead of the series opener, the Black Caps have added pacer Jacob Duffy to the side.

However, NZC clarified that Jacob Duffy will only be a part for the tri-nation series and not the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, which is set to start from February 19, just days after the final of the tri-series. Notably, New Zealand will depart for Pakistan on February 3 and will play their first match on Monday, February 10.

Jacob Duffy added as Lockie Ferguson’s cover for tri-nation series

While Duffy’s inclusion comes as a last-minute addition, he has been added as a cover for ace speedster Lockie Ferguson, who is currently featuring in the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025. However, the young pacer has been devoid of a place in the Champions Trophy squad.

Speaking of the 30-year-old, he has featured in 10 ODIs and 18 T20Is for New Zealand where he has taken 18 and 19 wickets respectively. He last played a 50-over match against Sri Lanka, where he took four wickets, averaging 17.25.
