Odysseas Vlachodimos, a Greek international, plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Newcastle United. The 31-year-old joined Newcastle United from Nottingham Forest for a reported transfer fee of £20m, which made him Newcastle United’s most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the club. He has also played for teams like Stuttgart, Benfica and Pananthiakos, which improved his experience of playing in different countries. Although, he has struggled to become the first choice goalkeeper for the Magpies, they have Martin Dubravka and Nick Pope ahead of him.
The Greek international has got limited game time since he joined the club and is reportedly interested in making a move somewhere else in Europe. According to Fabrizio Romano, Vlachodimos has reportedly rejected a move to the Liga MX after an approach from the club Pumas UNAM in order to join them in the Mexican League. The Mexican side are currently on the bottom of the Liga MX after they lost one match since the league started. They were hopeful about signing the likes of the Greek international who would be a crucial signing for them. However, Odysseas Vlachodimos has rejected the idea of moving to the Liga MX due to his ambitions to continue playing in Europe and also because of his family.
