One of Afghanistan's leading spinners at the moment, Noor Ahmad, who is currently playing in the Major League Cricket series in the USA, has highlighted a cause of concern in the ongoing tournament. According to a report by the The Times of India, Noor holds the view that the pitches being used for the matches in the MLC are 'unpredictable'.
So that leaves us with the question that what may have happened for the left-arm orthodox spinner to give this statement? The 20-year-old cricketer has shared on the current status of the pitches. He has said that they are a bit unpredictable because "sometimes they are not good for bowling, and on other times, flat", which according to the young spinner makes them unpredictable for the cricketers out there.
"Experience is very important. When you play in different leagues, you share the dressing room with different kinds of players, epecially senior players, and that's how you learn," said Noor while speaking recently to the media.
Boundaries here are short in MLC: Noor Ahmad
As a matter of fact, in the past season during MLC, Noor Ahmad also played 4 matches for the Texas Super Kings. From these contests, he emerged with 9 wickets. That was not a bad performance at all for the cricketer who is still developing in his craft and growing with each game. Ahmad has already bowled great spells in the ongoing series, with memorable performances with the ball in the games a
What Noor Ahmad also highlighted about the MLC is that the "boundaries here are short!" Does that mean that the white-ball franchise-based tournament is batter-friendly? Probably, as it's not hard to understand that.
But having said that, what is nice to note about the T20 competitions such as Major League Cricket is that due to the populalrity of the format, cricket is growing even in regions like America. Who would have ever thought several years ago, maybe in 2000's that cricket's shortest format in America would ever make news?
