Nottingham Forest are reportedly looking to give new contracts to Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White, but the club will wait for which European competition they end up qualifying for, prior to agreeing any deals with them. The Nottinghamshire-based club is currently in a battle for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) spots, with five clubs separated by just a point at the top half of the Premier League standings.

Notably, Nottingham Forest, who are managed by Nuno Espirito Santo, have already qualified for the European competition next season, but it will be interesting to see whether they secure UCL football or end up settling with UEFA Europa League (UEL) or UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL). On the final weekend of the Premier League season, Nottingham Forest will host Chelsea at the City Ground, which has huge implications on the aforementioned scenarios.

Nottingham Forest seem to have a few contract situations: Financial expert Stefan Borson

As per the report published in Football Insider, Stefan Borson, the financial expert, went on to reveal that Nottingham Forest will wait for their final standing in the Premier League, which will confirm their qualification to a particular European competition before making a decision regarding the new contracts for some of its players. While Callum Hudson-Odoi is currently contracted till June 2026 with Manchester United keeping an eye on him, Morgan Gibbs-White is on Manchester City radar with his current contract set to expire in June 2027.

Stefan Borson was also quoted as saying, “They (Nottingham Forest) seem to have a few contract situations. They are not going to want to lose key players. They obviously are in Europe, but depending on what version of Europe they get, they’re going to invest. They may decide that particularly if they could sell Gibbs-White, then that would give them a decent amount of capacity to start to strengthen the squad.”

“I have no idea whether United are interested in Hudson-Odoi, but I think you’ll see a lot of action at Nottingham Forest either way. I think they’re just waiting to see what they’re playing with,” he added.
